Description

This course will cover narrative short stories and poems written by Fargo high school EL refugee and immigrant students from over 20 different countries. In addition, individuals enrolled in the course read online resources related to empathy, storytelling and EL students. Course participants will explore how student stories can be used to foster relationships, breed empathy and help to create appropriate accommodations for EL refugee and immigrant students. This course is open to educators of all grade levels, as the stories written by the high school students often shed light onto their experiences within elementary and middle school as well.

This course is asynchronous & self-paced to allow for scheduling flexibility.
