Meeting Pattern

Huddle Discussions {8:00 - 9:00 p.m.}

• October 7, 14, 21, 28
• November 4

These discussions will occur via Blackboard using a video conferencing software called Collaborate. You should have a camera and headphones so we can all see and hear one another. All discussions will be recorded.

• To find the recording you need to open the Huddle. In the top left hand corner of the screen, you will see a menu bar. Open that and you will see Recordings. Click on Recordings and you will be able to retrieve the session you want to view.

Description

This course is intended to increase your awareness and understanding of character development in sports.

“Learn how to achieve more through character development with lessons including: How to separate the person from the player; How to distinguish the two types of character; How to overcome fear of failure; plus, many more!” 

Each part is an independent course; therefore, does not need to be taken in sequential order.

Syllabus, Objectives, and Outcomes

Objectives:

Students will:

• learn that the coach often enjoy the process of coaching more than the product.
• learn about behavior management and setting team and player standards.
• learn about the burden of winning.
• learn about establishing team culture.
