Thesis Formatting in MS Word - Basic
This workshop is intended for graduate students who are working on their graduate papers and provides instructions on how to use Microsoft Word to format a thesis that meets the NDSU Graduate School requirements.
Learning Goal: Students will develop the skill to identify and rectify common issues found in lengthy Word documents such as theses or dissertations.
Learning Objectives:
- Scheme of Pages
- Margins
- Section Break and Page Numbers
- Apply section break (above abstract)
- Unlink “same as previous”
- Apply page numbers
- Format page numbers
- Styles
- Show default styles
- Create a new style
- Title Case vs. Sentence case
- Apply styles
Tasks: Practical hands-on experience.
Prerequisites: Students should have a basic working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Word.
