Description
The online opportunity is for teachers to gain more knowledge and tools to enhance their ability to teach Geography to their students. It will provide experiential learning and resources for curriculum planning and development. The purpose of the workshop is to provide attendees with authentic experiences to help their application to the North Dakota Common Core (K-12) standards for geography. Educators have an opportunity to expand their content knowledge of geography and other issues facing K-12 education.
This class will use webinars, readings, and podcasts to allow participants to take a more in-depth look at current issues education is exploring. Topics will include subjects like - Mapping and development on GPS Systems - Artificial Intelligence in Geography - Cryptocurrency and Crypto mining and the role North Dakota energy plays. Syllabus, Objectives, and Outcomes
Objectives:
You will:
- understand the importance of their role in geographic education.
- become familiar with Krypto and ND roll in powering that industry
- be given a lesson plan demonstrating some of the skills and tools used in the workshop relative to applicable North Dakota Common Core standards.
