Description
DCB Industry Bootcamp will provide hands-on training sessions in Bottineau ND. Participants will gain in-depth training in the rules, safety, application and use of drones in the workplace. This training session is perfect for PreK-12 teachers, university professors, informal educators, natural resource professionals, and Individuals who work with drones.
The bootcamp is a 24 hours (virtual) & 23 hours hands on 3 professional development credit course for educators. This training session is perfect for PreK-12 teachers, university professors, informal educators, natural resource professionals, and leaders who want to gain the skills necessary to work with drones.
The Boot camp is funded by NSF Grant and is facilitated by the faculty of Dakota College at Bottineau sUAS department. Dr. Linda Burbidge (Principal Investigator), Michelle Caulley (Lead sUAS Instructor), Josephine Leader (sUAS Instructor). Mrs. Bartholomay will oversee instructors and presenters to ensure adherence to course mission, purpose, and learning objectives of this bootcamp.
Syllabus, Objectives, and Outcomes
Objectives:
You will:
- Understand current FAA regulations related to unmanned aircraft.
- Identify appropriate airspace using sectional charts.
- Assess risks from various sources, such as weather, airspace, equipment, and surrounding areas.
- Understand care and maintenance requirements for your UA.
- Identify what to look for in purchasing a drone and/or software.
Required Materials:
All materials required will be provided by the Instructor.
