Description
This course revolves around the text Other Words for Home. In this course, we will discuss the experience of some students in our classroom. The objective is to empathize with students in our classroom who might have had similar experiences to the story.
Syllabus, Objectives, and Outcomes
Objectives:
- Teaching emotional literacy to help students (and themselves) to recognize and understand the feelings and needs of others.
- Instilling perspective so students (and teachers) can step into others’ shoes to understand another’s feelings, thoughts and views.
- Integrating text into the social studies curriculum.
