Description
The IEP is the cornerstone of special education services provided for students identified as having a specific disability. In this course educators will gain a better understanding of the IEP, learn about the IEP process, and what is included in the IEP document. This course aligns with the requirements for IEPs as outlined by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the ND Department of Public Instruction, and the Minnesota Department of Education.

OBJECTIVES:
- Understand the legal requirements and implications of an IEP.
- Build an understanding of the IEP process.
- Identify key elements of the IEP document.
- Determine and assess accommodations and modifications to support a student’s learning needs.
- Develop measurable annual goals and objectives to meet a student's learning needs.
