Meeting Pattern
Zoom Sessions from 8:00 - 10:00 p.m.

Description
An opportunity to connect and learn with ND professionals to discuss basic principles of leadership, wellness, teambuilding, and positivity through reading and referencing a variety of educational texts. Leaders are readers! Educators don't have time to read it all, but as a collective PLC educators learn the key points and takeaways from many educational texts as well as some implementation ideas from other leaders across the state.
Syllabus, Objectives, and Outcomes
Objectives:
Teachers will understand:
- Impactful practices learned from educational text(s).
- Impactful practices learned from participating educators and additional texts.
- Networking and learning opportunities through zoom meetings with professionals around ND.
- Sharing and implementing the lessons presented in the texts.
Text:
Participants must self-select ANY two educational texts. Recommended texts may include but not limited to this list:
- Any Jon Gordon or Jon Wooden texts
- Chop Wood Carry Water by Joshua Medcalf
- The Anxious Generation - Jonathan Haidt
- 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership Workbook - John C Maxwell
- Lead Like It Matters to God by Richard Sterns
- Call Sign Chaos by Jim Mattis - great leadership book if you like history.
- Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win - by Jocko Willink
- The Happy Teacher Habits: 11 Habits of the Happiest, Most Effective Teachers on Earth by Michael Linsin
Course Requirements:
Each participant must:
- Read two different educational texts. One self-selected text for each week.
- Attend Zoom Meeting Sessions January 29 & February 5 from 8:00 – 10:00 p.m.
- Participants should have a list of at least 3 - 5 quotes or facts each week and be ready to reference them during the group discussion.
- Complete Google Form 1 prior to first meeting.
- Complete Google Form 2 prior to second meeting.
