Description
Tech Tools Exploration is an opportunity for teachers to explore a variety of technology tools designed to enhance teaching and learning experiences inside and outside the classroom. Participants will gain hands-on experience with well-established applications that support student engagement, collaboration, and assessment as well as AI tools that allow a teacher to work more efficiently. The course will cover choices that include:
- Interactive Presentation Tools: Learn to create engaging and interactive presentations using tools such as Nearpod, Pear Deck, Quizizz and Prezi.
- Collaborative Learning Apps: Explore apps like Padlet, Wakelet, and FigJam that facilitate student collaboration and creativity.
- Assessment and Feedback Tools: Understand how to utilize tools like Kahoot!, Quizizz, GimKit, Blooket, and Socrative to create formative assessments and provide instant feedback.
- Multimedia and Content Creation: Get hands-on with tools like Canva, Adobe Express, and Genially to create visually appealing and informative content.
- AI tools: Imagine time saving applications like MagicSchool AI, School.AI, Brisk Teaching, Khanmigo, Snorkl, Curipod, Drift, Quizizz AI, and Canva AI tools.
By the end of this course, educators will be equipped with practical skills and strategies to integrate technology seamlessly into their teaching practices, fostering a more engaging and effective learning environment for their students.

Timeline:
Since the class is an online, asynchronous, self-paced learning environment, there are a few deadlines you need follow:
- The class officially starts on May 19, 2025. Canvas posts will not be allowed until that date.
- Deadline for course registration is July 11, 2025. No new enrollees will be allowed after that date.
- Coursework must be completed by August 8, 2025. All course requirements are due by midnight.
Participants will submit a log of time spent engaging with resources as well as submitting an artifact from each of the above sections, totaling 30 hours for 2 PD Credits.
Required Student Resources:
- Computer with a high-speed internet connection, a Canvas Login, and a willingness to learn and explore new online tech tools.
