Description
“Improving Environmental Education Across North Dakota” provides hands-on training sessions in Bismarck, ND. Participants will gain an in-depth overview of the environmental education methods including Project Learning Tree, its resources, and instruction on how to facilitate training workshops with other educators. This training session is perfect for PreK-12 teachers, university professors, informal educators, natural resource professionals, and leaders who work with kids.
Syllabus, Objectives, and Outcomes
Objectives:
- Become familiar with the environmental education curricula and resources provided by Project Learning Tree.
- Learn how to better incorporate environmental education topics in their classrooms through interactive and hands-on outdoor experiences.
- Learn how to select activities for appropriate learning objectives and model activities through peer learning.
- Develop lesson plans to host effective professional development workshops with their respective audiences.
- Students will use critical thinking and information processing skills in developing a journal and study materials to be incorporated in the classroom.
