Description
This course builds on the understanding of the importance and benefits of daily school-wide physical activity. Classroom teachers will continue to research and implement a variety of interdisciplinary classroom physical activities and movement breaks that facilitate improved academic performance, classroom behavior, and student health. Classroom teachers will also apply their working knowledge of the national Active Schools initiative and the classroom teacher’s role in Comprehensive School Physical Activity Programs (CSPAPs). Participants should complete the SchoolsAlive! Active Classrooms course prior to enrolling.

Objectives:
You will be able to:
- Describe the importance and benefits of classroom physical activity and both national and local initiatives.
- Demonstrate effective classroom physical activity strategies and appropriate practices.
- Promote healthy choices by implementing practices in their classroom/school settings and by partnering with families and community stakeholders.
- Implement the Reasoned Action Model to reflect on personal teaching experiences.
Materials:
- Various materials will be provided by the instructors.
- Device for Internet access needed.
- Personal Gmail email address that is not tied to a G-suite.
