Description
The pedagogical approach of Standards-Based Grading and Instruction (SBG/SBI) primarily entails teachers evaluating students' mastery of the established standards and learning objectives in a summative manner. Conversely, Evidence-Based Grading and Reporting (EBR) emphasizes the collaborative development and refinement of proficiency and retention expectations, grounded in a thorough analysis of student-generated evidence. This course presents an opportunity for secondary educators to expand their knowledge of SBI and EBR through a variety of methods including teacher-led lectures, critical examination of relevant data and literature, and reflective writing exercises.
