Description
Autism, Asperger’s, Spectrum Disorders, the life of the child-through-adult, and their successes will be discussed in the text, web articles and videos. The autistic in the workplace flourishes and is well accomplished.
Syllabus, Objectives, and Outcomes
Objectives:
By the end of this course, the student will be able to:
- describe the history and present understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
- have knowledge about the characteristics of autism spectrum disorders.
- identify the support associated with spectrum disorders.
- identify preparation and resources for the young person after high school and into adulthood.
- demonstrate strategies and techniques that will help in working with autistic young people.

The following assignments and projects are required for this course = 30 hrs. This course is self-paced however feel free to email the instructor anytime during the course if you have any questions or concerns.
- Read text including epilogue (277 page)
- Watch videos /read articles on (including access time)
- Write reflections (5) (1 page)
- Research two articles from Internet (write a half page review of each)
- Essay - (overall what you have interacted with) (1 – 2 pages)
Class assignments and activities are designed to enhance students’ education and develop their skills in research, critical analysis, academic writing.
