“Your only job is to help your players be better. The author reveals what propelled him to the top of his profession and shows how you can apply the same approach to virtually any area of your life. In the process, you’ll learn the seven keys of mentoring leadership―and why they’re so effective; why mentor leadership brings out the best in people; how a mentor leader recovers from mistakes and handles team discipline; and the secret to getting people to follow you and do their best for you without intimidation tactics.”
- Coach Wooden’s Greatest Secret, The Power of a Lot of Little Things Done Well. By Pat Williams ISBN: 978-0-8007-2374-3

“At the first practice of any season, a coach teaches his players how to put on their socks and shoes a very particular way. When asked about this, the author replied, ‘The little things matter. All I need is one little wrinkle in one sock to put a blister on one foot--and it could ruin my whole season. Teaching about shoes and socks, I saw that it really did cut down on blisters during the season.’ That little detail gives us an edge and knowing the long-term impact of little things done well. It shows readers how the small things one does or doesn't do drastically affect one's integrity, reputation, health, career, faith, and success. People want to do their best in life, family, work, and faith.”
