"We are able to read and discuss a wide variety of different types of books.  I was able to read so many great books that I am excited to implement in my classroom."

"I have recommended this format to instructors across the country as a teacher institute at Mount Vernon.  It allows educators to actually find and use literary works in the classroom."

"I loved the range of books and the recommendation. I always find new book reads this way."

"I enjoyed being able to take a class to help me stay current in children's literature."

"Great class that will be helpful in my teaching this year. This was an excellent course!"

"I really enjoyed the class. I loved getting into new books and have already ordered two sets of novels to be used in my class. I really liked getting to discuss the books with other teachers."

"The course is a great combination of leadership by the instructor and discussion among peers. I felt like I learned a lot from both types of interaction."

"As a counselor, it gave me more ideas that I could use with lessons, small groups and in individual sessions with students."

"Love the list of SEL books and opened my eyes up to many more that I hadn't seen before."

"EXCELLENT choices of books to read, books I may not have read this summer, but I am so glad that I did!"

"LOVED the choice option as I could pick books that I felt were related to my classroom."

"Brenda did a great job assigning novels to read that were diverse and thought provoking."
