Meeting Pattern
Virtual/Zoom/Synchronous Conference 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. both days. Educators who participate in the synchronous virtual summer institute, will need to watch additional recorded sessions in order to complete the seat time requirements.
Educators are not required to participate in the synchronous virtual institute. Instead, they may complete the seat time hours by watching a minimum of 15 hours (900 minutes) of recorded sessions. These recordings will be available until December 1, 2022.
Description
This course is designed for school counselors, counselor educators, school counseling graduate students, administrators, and district-level staff who oversee or collaborate with school counseling programs. Experts from Hatching Results will lead participants in an interactive and engaging professional development opportunity.
Educators in this course will leave with the tools they need to promote and support the development and implementation of a comprehensive school counseling program that is data-driven to meet the needs of all students. All general and concurrent sessions will be recorded and participants will have access to them.
Syllabus, Objectives, and Outcomes
Participants will:
1. Learn about effective methods for ensuring that all students have equitable access to school counseling programs.
2. Gather tools that can be used to promote and support the development of comprehensive school counseling programs.
3. Learn how to implement data-driven school counseling programs that are based on the ASCA national standards.
4. Identify ways in which school administrators and school counselors can collaborate in order to increase access to student supports.
