Description
This text combines science with practical advice to help parents and caregivers guide teens through core developmental tasks like identity formation, belonging, and capability, using technology as a tool for growth rather than just a source of alarm. Through the text there are strategies for building trust and meaningful relationships with teens. You will be guided in five weekly discussions that look at the core developmental tasks of adolescence: capability, identity, belonging, and how they contribute to the world around them. Throughout these discussions will be insight into the adolescent brain development and techniques for a deeper connection with your child or the children you teach.

Objectives:
You will:
- Understand the effect of technology and social media on the adolescent brain.
- Understand how the lack of free play has contributed to the rise of anxiety and depression in adolescents.
- Reflect on the changes to be made to improve the mental health of adolescents.
